Life as a Church - Introduction Print E-mail

Sunday Evening, Januray 1, 2006

I.  Introduction:  Do we have responsibility to/in the local church?
We live in a time in Church History when people do not really have a sense of responsibility to the local Church.  If you asked the average member of a Baptist church what his/her responsibilities were to the church you would surely get varying answers depending on the particular local church they attend and the particular person you are speaking to.  Some, although hopefully not all, would simply answer that they have very little responsibility to the church.  Others might admit that they have responsibility while confessing that they do not know what the responsibility consists of.

Sharing the Gospel - Introduction Print E-mail

Sunday Evening, April 9, 2006

I.  Introduction:
How would you answer the questions: How does a person become a Christian?  What is the gospel?  How can I be saved?  Why do I need to be saved?  All of these questions are important for us to answer as we come into contact with an unbelieving world.  Yet, at times, we find ourselves unable to articulate an answer (or at least an answer that we feel is appropriate).  Before I came as pastor here at Trinity, I was asked to possibly teach some on the issue of sharing our faith with others.  Thus, for the next few weeks, I want us to try and answer the above questions in a way that will aid us in sharing the gospel with our neighbors, family members, friends, co-workers, and even strangers.  Tonight I want to begin with a couple of introductory questions.

Meet our Pastor Print E-mail

The members of Trinity Baptist Church voted unanimously in May of 2005 to call William Marshall as our new pastor, ending a search process which had begun nearly a year before.  When William accepted the call, he was still serving as the Minister to College Students and the Minister of Music at Cornerstone Community Church in Jackson, TN, and also finishing seminary.  In order to give William and his wife Glenna the opportunity to keep a number of prior commitments, July 10, 2005, was set for his first official day as pastor of Trinity Baptist Church.
