Our church supports, through various combinations of giving, praying, and direct involvement, a number of missions organizations and programs.  We do so out of love and compassion for those in spiritual and physical need, and in obedience to the Word of God.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:18-20)

For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised... Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  (The apostle Paul, 2 Cor. 5:14-15, 20)

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. (The apostle John, 1 John 3:16-18)

Here are some of the groups we support.  Clicking on an underlined heading will open a new window with additional information.  Some links require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view.

  • The Dongxiang  Our church recently decided to "adopt" this unreached people group, in strategic partnership with the Southern Baptist IMB.  That means, among other things, that we are committed to praying for the Dongxiang.  Some of the specific prayer requests identified by the IMB are:
    • For current Scripture translation work to be fruitful.
    • For God to call out local Christians to work among the Dongxiang since foreigners cannot live in the country.
    • That believers will have opportunities to share the love of God and His Son, Jesus, through management of foreign-built schools in the country.

  • The Cooperative Program  A portion of the offerings we receive at Trinity Baptist Church go to support missionaries through the Cooperative Program.

  • Annie Armstrong Easter Offering  We take up a special offering each Easter for North American missions.

  • Lottie Moon Christmas Offering  Annual offering for World Missions.  This link leads to a short but gripping biography of Lottie Moon presented by the IMB.

  • Compassion International  This outstanding relief organization is dedicated to meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of children living in poverty through their sponsorship program.  Both our youth department and many individuals in our church sponsor a child.  We invite you to take a minute to browse the Compassion website, and prayerfully consider sponsorship yourself.

  • Mission Missouri  Local ministry devoted to helping the needy by providing clothing and other basic necessities of life; by operating a soup kitchen; by offering a residential Christ-centered drug and alcohol addiction recovery program; and by various other means.

  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes  We strongly support our local FCA huddle, believing it provides us with an excellent opportunity to take the gospel into our public school system.
