Meet our Pastor Print E-mail

The members of Trinity Baptist Church voted unanimously in May of 2005 to call William Marshall as our new pastor, ending a search process which had begun nearly a year before.  When William accepted the call, he was still serving as the Minister to College Students and the Minister of Music at Cornerstone Community Church in Jackson, TN, and also finishing seminary.  In order to give William and his wife Glenna the opportunity to keep a number of prior commitments, July 10, 2005, was set for his first official day as pastor of Trinity Baptist Church.

William and Glenna met at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where they were both attending college.  They were married on July 26, 2003.  Glenna graduated from Union with a Bachelor of Arts in English.  William obtained his Bachelor's degreee with a major in Biblical Studies and a minor in English, graduating Magna Cum Laude.  Then, in May 2005, he received his Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry.

When it comes to pastoral ministry, William is passionate about the faithful proclamation of God's Word, and is deeply committed to praying, providing oversight, and caring for the members of Trinity Baptist.  His vision for the church is to see people increasingly conformed to the image of the Son, by the power of the Spirit, for the glory of the Father.

Recently, William and Glenna adopted a son.  Isaiah is their first child.  Glenna has written extensively about infertility and adoption issues on their family blog.  If you'd like to know more, you can visit the blog at William, Glenna, & Isaiah.

William did you take seminary classes in jackson?
If so I think we had class together for a semester or 2.
Was just surfing the web and came across this churches site.

Mark,

I did take classes in Jackson. Can you remember any of the classes that we had together? That might help me remember. Thanks for stopping by the site.

Pastor, my wife and I visited last spring when we were in MO canoeing. I was glad to find your church and a faithful preacher of God's word.

If we come through Sikeston again, we'll certainly stop in.
